Drug-Free Workplace


The Agency is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and therefore has a Drug-Free Workplace Policy applicable to all employees of the Agency. The Agency strictly prohibits the following illicit actions: use, possession, sale, conveyance, transportation, storage, transfer, dispensation, distribution, or manufacture of illegal drugs, intoxicants, controlled substances, and/or drug paraphernalia in any amount or in any manner. Notwithstanding the foregoing possession, conveyance, transportation, storage, transfer, dispensation, or distribution of prescription medication by an employee pursuant to that employee’s normal job duties in the ordinary course of the business of the Agency shall not be in violation of Drug-Free Workplace Policy. The abuse of alcohol, the use of unverified prescription medications, the abuse of prescribed or over-the-counter drugs, or the use of alcohol or over-the-counter medications so as to be under the influence (as determined by the Agency) while on Agency property; in an Agency vehicle; while on the job including, but not limited to, during the employee’s working hours at lunch or other mealtime, or while otherwise engaged in activity on behalf of the Agency; or at or traveling to any job site is also strictly prohibited. Abiding by the terms of the Drug-Free Workplace Policy is a condition of employment. Violations of this policy shall result in disciplinary actions.
