Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services' Human Resource Department provides services designed to enhance employee recruitment and retention.  Services include benefits, employment opportunities, and employee relations assistance.

Employment Application Guidelines

Please be sure to follow the guidelines below in completing your Application for Employment so that your application may be given full consideration.  Thank you!

  • To be considered for an available position, a completed DPCS employment application is required.  Applications are accepted during normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM), or mailed to DPCS, Attention: Human Resource Department, 245 Hairston Street, Danville, Virginia 24540.

 

  • All sections of the application form must be completed in order for it to receive consideration.  A resume, if required, must be included.

 

  • Your application must indicate a position title and position number in order to be accepted.  Your application will be given consideration for the position title and number indicated on your application.  Photocopied applications with original signature will be accepted for multiple jobs for which you are applying.  All applications must be received no later than 5:00 PM on the deadline date for the position advertised.  DPCS cannot consider unsolicited applications or applications received after the closing date for a posted position.

 

  • Included on each application is a request for information regarding the applicant's race, gender, age, education, and referral source.  Provision of this information is voluntary, and answers to these questions are strictly for record keeping purposes, in compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  This section of the application will be detached upon receipt and filed separately.

 

  • All position requirements and preferences stated in the position description should be fully explained as to how you meet each required and/or preferred criteria.

Background Checks

Any offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory background checks that are conducted through The Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry of Virginia Department of Social Services and other social services departments; the Virginia State Police or the state police of the applicant's former state(s) of residence; and the Central Criminal Records Exchange to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
