Emergency Services Coordinator

 

Position Number: 4035

 

Responsibilities: Provides clinical and administrative supervision to the Emergency Services Unit; develops and implements 24 hour/7 day week staff schedules; assists with case dispositions; serves as emergency services liaison to state and private psychiatric facilities, hospital emergency rooms, police, courts, and other community agencies; compiles detailed program reports; maintains medical record documentation and oversees compliance with regulations; provides face to face and telephone crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations, and assessment of treatment needs, pre-admission screenings, and attendance at committal hearings, all as needed for unit coverage; facilitates management team after hours schedule in order to provide 24 hour on-call backup to emergency services clinicians.

 

Requirements: Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social work, or Human Services that includes coursework for eventual licensure by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist required; minimum two years experience within the past five years in mental health or substance abuse services, which includes providing crisis intervention/emergency services required. Must be able to successfully complete the DBHDS certification as a pre-admission screening evaluator within 3 months of employment. Preferred Qualifications: License and management experience. Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and CANIS report will be required upon request.

 

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $39,450 - $59,176 with 10% increase for licensure. Excellent fringe benefits.
